The La Quinta Baking Company is one of our favorite places to go for breakfast, especially with friends on their birthday. They are a bakery but have a full menu for breakfast or lunch. I’ve heard they serve delicious meals for dinner, but have only frequented this place for breakfast and lunch. Absolutely delicious and it is not far from our place! Easy to find!

This place is my (Melissa) favorite for pastries. They have a Raisin Roll that absolutely melts in your mouth. They open at 8am. If you want one of these rolls you have to get there as soon as they open. They are freshly baked in small batches every morning. If you sleep in you will miss out. They also serve breakfast and lunch.

French Corner Cafe

If you want one of these rolls you have to get there as soon as they open. They are freshly baked in small batches every morning. If you sleep in you will miss out. They also serve breakfast and lunch.
Just Java is the corner coffee shop that the locals frequent. There are MANY Starbucks in the area. As a matter of fact, there is one right across the main street (Washington) from Just Java, but this place is our favorite. The owners, Dan & Terri, are super friendly to all. If you need a quick bite to eat you can get that here also.

As a matter of fact, there is one right across the main street (Washington) from Just Java, but this place is our favorite. The owners, Dan & Terri, are super friendly to all. If you need a quick bite to eat you can get that here also.
The Cliffhouse is one of our favorite dinner spots. Wether you want to sit in their dining room and have an elegant meal, or just be casual and enjoy a meal in the bar, you won’t be disappointed. The bar menu is a bit less expensive if you are watching your budget, but the quality and flavor of the food remains excellent. If weather is mild and you want to sit in the bar area ask for outdoor seating. The restaurant is seated right against the “cliff” and it is very lovely, especially early evening.

Parks & Nature
The Living Desert is great outdoor natural FUN! Our family has enjoyed the Living Desert for years. Seeing the animals in their habitats, especially the giraffes is amazing.
