This is a very popular eating place and bakery 3 minutes' walk from my place. It's got great food and great service though there can be a bit of a wait to get a table because it's so popular. Main dishes are breakfast type of food, sandwiches, etc. All my guests who've gone there have loved it. I suggest you get breakfast there one morning. Try the Israeli breakfast.

When you visit Jaffa (Yafo), this is the place to go to get a taste of typical Arab/Middle Eastern food. As you sit down, the waiters will bring you at least 10 little dishes with all kinds of salads, hummus, pita bread, etc. And if you choose the salads as your main meal, they will keep coming and replacing your empty dishes. So it's like a bottomless salad bar :) Of course, you can also order fish and meat here.

Parks & Nature

One of the lesser-known attractions of Tel Aviv, the Yarkon park is large with interweaving pedestrian paths and bicycle lanes. The Yarkon river runs through it. During good weather, there are people picnicking, cycling, exercising, doing yoga or TRX. There is even a large outdoor gym. The park is also busy at night. And is completely safe! I cycle through it sometimes at midnight!

Getting Around

Tel Aviv is actually quite a small city. It's mainly very flat so it's easy to walk around the whole city. Public transport via bus is good within the city and goes quite late into the night, depending on the season. For example, in summer there are lots of night buses going until 1am. The other way to get around that's like the bus but much smaller and quicker is the Sherut ("share-route"). Basically this is a shared taxi that travels along certain bus routes, like the 4 or 5. There are also lots of normal and electric bicycles as well as electric scooters in Tel Aviv. This is a very convenient way to get around the city. Many places have them to rent by the hour or by day. Plus many are unlocked with an app and you can pick them up and drop them off in loads of places. The main electric scooter companies operating in Tel Aviv are: Wind, Bird, Lime. Lastly, there are plenty of taxis but these are the most expensive option. The best app to use is Gett. There is also a Russian one called Yango. While you're in Tel Aviv, there is no need to rent a car. In fact, renting a car in Tel Aviv is a liability because it's very difficult to find street parking here and parking lots are very expensive. However, for doing day trips out of Tel Aviv, a rental car is very helpful. All the main rental car companies are within a 10-minute walk from my place.

Gorgeous boulevard going through the centre of Tel Aviv, from Habima theatre complex at the one end to heart of where Tel Aviv began. Lined with apartment blocks, restaurants, clubs. There are separate pedestrian and bicycle lanes. You can find lounger chairs, kids play parks/gyms, coffee shops on the boulevard itself. Great for strolls and taking in the nightlife.
