The north shore bus transfer station is about a 3 minute walk from my house. Here you can hop on many of the busses on this side of town, or easily transfer busses at the downtown transit exchange station.
TRU express bus leaves from this north shore location and heads straight up there. Easy-peasy!

If you walk to the end of my street (East) you will be at River's trail. This is a popular path along the north Thompson river, used my pedestrians and bicyclists. You can walk along the trail towards the south, where you can cross the river via the Overlanders Bridge to get downtown. You can also connect with a different section to head west, towards the airport.

Riverside Park is The main city park in Kamloops. It has a nice beach area, as well as picnic tables and lots of shade from trees. A water park, public washrooms, and in the evening in the summer there is live music playing every night.

Sun Peaks is a great Ski hill just 45 minutes from Kamloops. Its not only a ski hill, but there is a golf course up there, its great for hiking, and mountain biking too!

Isobel lake is a gorgeous little lake close to Kamloops. Nice walking trail all around the lake which you can walk, bike, and I think its even wheel-chair accessible. A good lake for fishing, and checking out the wildlife. Other good hiking trails around the area too.
The road getting in there can be a bit iffy at times (depending on the season) so make sure you have 4 wheel drive. ;)
