A great place to let your dog run down by the river.
The main way to the Castle Meadows is from Tudor Street. No visit to Abergavenny is complete without a wander on the meadows and to view the castle, mountains and edge of the town. Watch out for the cows who graze here for part of the year.

Getting Around
The train goes direct to quite a few places. Cardiff and Hereford are great for a day trip. Newport, Manchester, Shrewsbury and Crewe are useful for connections to the rest of the UK. There are even direct trains to Holyhead and Fishguard (where you can catch the ferry to Ireland). The views from the train are very pretty.

This restaurant in the Kings Arms Hotel serves Indian food in the evenings and English during the day. We have found the Indian and Nepalese food to be the best in Abergavenny and up there with the best I have ever tasted, the chef ( michelin star experience ) prepares all of his spices himself.
