I really like Montmartre, but these streets around place du Tertre are very touristic and artificial... Just pass by but don't stop. And the restaurants are bad and expensives!

This part of Montmartre is really nicer, just get lost in the little streets and try to open the doors, you'll find some hidden gardens that are treasures...

Beetween this metro station and my place, it's the african neighbourhood of Paris. Go to the market on friday or saturday rue Dejean, you'll travel for free!

The Canal Saint Martin is quite long and this part is really cool, lots of people seating there by evening with beers and music, and lots of nice bars.

For me that's the "night street" of paris. Bars everywhere, crowded, not always cheap but very various... From here to Menimontant, rue Saint-Maur, rue JP Timbaud, check the bars...
