Tie a chicken neck or drumstick on a 10-12 foot string, throw the chicken out into the water and wait. Pull the string in slowly. You will know if there is a crab on it as the line will get tight - they pull back slightly. Scoop the crab into a fishing net.
Should catch and release, but its great fun for younger kids.
