Take the street car
They're as iconic to New Orleans as the trolly is to San Francisco. The Green Line is 5 minute walk from the cottage and goes straight to the edge of the French Quarter. If you're going for a night on the town just be ready to order an Uber/Taxi back if you don't want to walk back to the last stop.
