One of my favorite places to walk my dog on a beautiful day! The Walkway is about 20 miles from here, and is a refreshing 1.28 miles each way. It was once used as a Railroad Bride, and is now a pedestrian bridge, which stands 212 feet above the Hudson River. It is part is of the Hudson Valley Rail Trail. The Walkway is free. They welcome leashed pets, bicycles and walking/running. From here, you would enter frin the Highland, NY side of the bridge.

There are several "Pick your own" orchards within 15 minutes from here. Weeds Farm is my favorite. They have a large variety of fruit, vegetables, and flowers to pick throughout late spring and into the farm. Check their calendar online to see which produce is available at the time of your stay. Their website also has a calendar of the festivals and special events. They have plenty of fun activities for both the young and old. They have an amazing farm market, with the best homemade pies around! Don't leave the farm without buying their fresh and warm cider donuts. They are addicting!
