Take a round trip from Fort William to Mallaig by old fashioned steam train. Look out of the windows to admire the views seen by Harry, Ron, Hermione and friends as they headed off to Hogwarts. If you look carefully you will see where Harry flew over the Loch on Buckbeak and you may even spot the island where Professor Dumbledore rests in peace. Almost as good as riding on the train is finding a good spot to watch it puffing by. Morar Station is nearby or head across to Glenfinnan viaduct for an iconic view.

In need of some TLC but we’ll worth a day trip to Rum to visit. Hopefully one day funding will be found to restore this beautiful castle.

Wander to the road end and head right to the car park. Walk along the path to the beach. When the tide is out, you can walk along several coves and head inland using one of several paths to return via Camusdarach Campsite. If the tide is in, use the dune path. Sometimes otters can be seen amongst the skerries.
