Marloes Sands is a wild and remote beach with stunning views and amazing geology. Great for hiking and beaching. There are no facilities other than a National Trust car park and loos. The farmer opens up a field for parking above Marloes making access to the beach a little easier. Runwayskiln is near the car park and is a great place for food, daytime only and book to avoid disappointment. There are some great coastal walks around Marloes especially around the deer park at Martins Haven where you get spectacular views of the islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm. Martins Haven is where you catch the boats to Skomer island, famous for Puffins, Manx Shearwaters and Seals. Boats to Skomer are best booked in advance as it is a very popular outing. 15/20 mins from Sutton.

Nolton Haven is a small cove with a Sandy beach. It is great for small kids. There is the Mariners Inn and Nolton Haven Brasserie. Ripple Effect is a tiny surf shop selling secondhand boards and wetsuits etc. The beach is generally very safe and is lifeguarded during the summer. Be a little wary on days of big surf as there can be a rip current on the right hand side of the beach at mid to low tide. 5 mins from Sutton

A quaint harbour, Porthgain has the industrial remnants of the quarry operation in the area. Ships would be loaded here with slate and stone for transport around the country. It is worth an explore and is a good starting point for coastal walks. The Sloop offers good pub food and is worth a look to see the old photos of what the harbour was like in its hey day. The Shed is also a good restaurant and does great fish and chips for eating inn or take away. There are also a couple of art galleries. 25 mins from Sutton
