Great spot to do some u-picking - they offer everything from strawberries to flowers to pumpkins depending on the season. They offer a great play zone for the kids. The farm market has all sorts of treats from breakfast sandwiches to pies to frozen custard to local meats and produce.

Old Bust Head is a 20 minute drive from our house and is a great place to visit on your way back to the DC area or other places Northeast of us.

Awesome ice cream and other dairy products made with local milk. I like their eggnog during the holidays. Our kids love the cotton candy ice cream. Everything here is very rich.

It's a lot of fun to get a flight and try all of their crazy cider flavors. They have lots of outdoor seating and fire pits and often have a food truck on site. I recommend pairing with a visit to the Flying Circus or a fishing adventure at Kelly's Ford.

There are many restaurant options at the Bealeton Village Center, and Taqueria Jasmine is probably the best. It's a restaurant in a strip-mall so the ambiance is lacking - but the food is legit.

They generally host a Hot Air Balloon Festival in late August. We often see hot air balloons and old-timey airplanes in the sky above our farm. We capture some really pretty photos in August when the hydrangeas are in full bloom and there are hot air balloons in the sky.
The flying circus is a 10 minute drive from our house and is close to Morais Winery. There's also a funky old Rollerskate statue a little further south on 17 if you are into quirky things like that.

This is probably the most popular hike in Shenandoah National Park, and starting March 1, 2022 you will need a day pass to access the trail which you can purchase here: https://www.recreation.gov/. You will also need to pay to enter the National Park unless you already have a National Parks pass.
The trail itself is challenging as it is about 10 miles long and involves some rock scrambling. I find the rock scrambling to be very fun and the views from the summit are to die for.
It's a little less than an hour drive from our house to the trail head. Make sure you screenshot directions back to the house as the reception from the trailhead is not great.

Lavender season is early June to mid-July. It's a great place to bring a picnic and take some pretty photos. They generally offer a lavender festival in late June and other events like Yoga in the Lavender Fields. This farm is a 13 minute drive from our farm.

Awesome park with a splash pad, unique kids playground, a ninja warrior course, and a nice bike / walking path. You can stop at Old Trade Brewery (kid-friendly brewery) or Bounce with Us (Warehouse filled with moon bounces) on your way home.

We like to park at the Fauquier Education Farm and ride our bikes to Old Town Warrenton for lunch. The path is paved the whole way and the Education Farm generally has a beautiful display of flowers in the summer.
