Marble Creek Recreation Area Campground
This is another great spot to fish or swim and enjoy natural Missouri.
You can also kayak from this point down to Whitener Ford and it will be about 6-8 hours. There are a few points where you'll need to drag over but not a lot. This also depends on seasonal water levels so please check with us on that. May-June you should be o.k. But pay attention to weather conditions.
Thompson Ford Access
This is another great spot to fish or swim and enjoy natural Missouri.
You can also kayak from this point down to Whitener Ford and it will be about 6-8 hours. There are a few points where you'll need to drag over but not a lot. This also depends on seasonal water levels so please check with us on that. May-June you should be o.k. But pay attention to weather conditions.
Food scene
Great food and our personal favorite for Mexican food.
The El Presidente Margarita is #1 - I highly recommend only 1. If you go past 1 then have a ride ready to get back.
The Eduardo Special is my personal favorite, but you can't go wrong here.

For down home real breakfast in the Ozarks, this is where the local folks go.
If your not from around here, prepare to have coffee that resembles hot tea from most restaurants around. That's just the way it is.
You'll also find that most places just don't play any background music. Just a couple of things unique to our area.
If you are looking for avacado on toast. This is not your spot.
But if you wake up wondering how much bacon you can get with your gravy like I do, then this is your go to spot inside of two counties.

Hiking
This is NOT for the inexperienced hiker.
You can get lost here easily and there is no GPS or Towers service. There are also wild hogs a plenty. While you might not see any, just be ready and have a tree picked out to shimmy up at all times.
Trail maps are useless here as well because there are so many deer and logging trails that intersect it that is makes it useless.
If you are hiking with a buddy, make sure they bring more than an apple and a roll of toilette paper in the event you end up lost. Ask me how I know.
There are a lot of other great trails nearby that give great views. This one is simply for those looking to see if they can find a couple nice views and make it back to the car before winter sets in or the bears and Sasquatch get them. Or all the above.
If you still persist and want to hike here. Just remember the stern warning I gave as you grope about in the darkest dark and your hopes of getting out fade as you can hear your fellow hiker bite in his only apple.
