Where Tucson goes to cool down! Following the Catalina Highway, temperatures at the top of Mount Lemmon are often 20-30 degrees cooler than the Valley, and there’s even a ski resort at the top with a ski lift that's open year round (in case you don't want to hike to the top!). Many hiking trails all over the mountain, if you do! The village of Summerhaven is a great place for a post-hike bite.

Just north of Tucson in Oro Valley. For a short hike on the easy side, the Canyon Loop Trail is a 2.3-mile loop that has nice views and even some water crossings. The Romero Pools Trail is a challenging 7-mile out and back hike with rewarding small swimming holes (dependent on rainfall & season).
