I would say Aldeburgh is 22 minutes away. It has a shingle beach but it’s huge so there’s plenty of room to stake some space. The swimming is lovely however dogs can only go on there May to September on the very furthest point. The fish shacks are not to be missed.

Natural swimming
If you’re at the White Lion pub head to the little bridge and you are there.
If you or dog like a dip in a natural pond the bomb hole next to the White Lion in Ufford is a real favourite with locals. We all just muck along and have a swim and cool down. There’s a nice walk around the fishing lakes from the same place too

Food scene
The best foodie pub there is in neighbouring villages. The Unruly Pig is also great. But we love The Crown for just great service and lovely food that won’t break the bank but will make you feel like you have broken the bank. There is a garden at the back for lunch if you bring a dog or kids
