This area of the Dordogne is spectacularly wonderful and deserves at least a day there. With boating, sight seeing, eateries and bars it really is a lovely place to hang out. Try to get there early in the height of summer as parking can be a bit tricky.

Known for its markets and restaurants Eymet is one of the few places in the Dordogne where you can get a good Chinese meal at Mama Chows. Ideal when the foie gras and cheese get a bit too much!

Villereal has one of the only supermarkets in the Dordogne open on Sundays so if you've not quite planned your provisions efficiently then head out to here. Half an hours' drive down the old roman road, the D207. It also has regular Vide Grenuer (car boor sales) and brocantes.
