Enjoy the true outdoors with an easy 3/4 - 1 mile private nature hike hosted by a pack of loose, well trained German Shepherd Dogs. The hike starts at our farm in coastal Maine and wanders through a network of trails winding through a natural wild Maine forest. You will be hiking with a large pack of (5 to 12) loose german shepherd dogs of various ages who will want attention along the way! On the walk there are soft forest trails, sometimes mud puddles and slippery footing. Throughout our adventure you will learn tips on hiking with a pack of German Shepherds the way they communicate and what their body language means. Once we return there will be bathroom facilities, snacks and beverages. We will also talk about how we raise and imprint our young shepherds and prepare them as family companions. Your hosts for the nature walk will be either Jennifer, Katie, or both! We began offering pack walks at our open house for our German Shepherd Breeding program, and because of the enthusiasm and popularity, we decided to host this event through Airbnb. This hike is a carefully selected pack of our own German Shepherds. We do not allow visiting dogs to join on the pack hike. Children under two years old are FREE

I can take up to 2 people per class and we will make ONE wood bowl together. I will start by showing a couple of videos of what we will be doing, followed by safety instructions before we dive in. No prior experience is required. I provide active hands-on instruction, demonstrations and enthusiastic encouragement. You will make all the creative decisions of wood type, bowl shape and size etc. I offer a selection of woods to choose from including locally harvested hardwoods purchased from me directly on the day of the class. NOTE! I can schedule this event any time or day - just let me know what day or time you want. Other things to note: Plan on getting covered in shavings! Wear work clothes and roll up long sleeves, remove watches and bracelets and long hair must be tied back. I will provide all safety equipment and advice. A materials fee of $12 to $30 covers the wood blank.

A Ten Apple Farm goat hike is a two hour recreational and educational goat experience. You'll meet your hosts (and our herd of Alpine dairy goats), and hear about their 16 years of experience with goats and living on a small family farm. Once we've met the goats and the many other animals residents of the farm, we’ll set off on a hike through the Ten Apple Farm woods with the goats and Philip our sheep! The hike consists of an approximately one and a half mile loop trail through our woods on lightly groomed trails. Along the way we’ll talk about goats as pack animals, what they eat, and you’ll learn a thing or two about raising and caring for goats. There's lots of time for interacting with the goats, asking questions, or just soaking in the Maine woods and these adorable, fun animals. We end the experience with fresh goat milk and homemade cookies! Please note: Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by an adult. 5 and 6 year olds should plan to hold a parent's hand during the hike. (Children under 4 must be carried). Other things to note: The hike is not strenuous, but there is a little bit of steep terrain in 2 spots. We have rope railings on the trail to assist with getting up and down in those spots, but guests who have bad knees, hips, or other difficulties with uneven or steep terrain should be aware.

Guests will board from the dock and we will take a tour of the boat, briefly discuss safe sailing practices and answer any questions. We will sail on the Saco River into Saco Bay and view Wood Island Lighthouse, Biddeford Pool & Old Orchard Beach. We will keep on the look out for marine wildlife. We have seen seals, porpoises, sharks and even whales. We will return to the same dock on which the guests boarded.

Take a rest from the stress of the modern world and get ready to fall in love with group of energetic fun seeking Corgis as they take you on a unique journey to a special place where you find hidden dwellings and discover the secret treasure chests. BlissWood Forest is located in Coastal Maine one hour south of Acadia National Park. You will arrive at Corgi Bliss, in the town of Penobscot, on the edge of the forest. There you will meet your hosts, the Corgis along with Jennifer or Katie. Drinks will be offered, as well as a discussion about safety while walking with the corgis . We will set off on our journey through the fields, and into BlissWood Forest. The easy half-mile hike is well maintained and goes at a leisurely pace. The loose Corgis will be scurrying about ahead as they sniff the ground and try to pick up the scent of pixie dust. Help the Corgis find the hidden treasure chests and secret swellings along the path. We pause a lot for selfies, kisses and cuddles from the animals. Then we loop down the trail and return to Corgi Bliss, where drinks and snacks are to be had before saying our goodbyes. We will be outdoors in the fresh air and forest, wear layered clothing and shoes that protect your feet from the elements. Enjoy the earthy smells and forest sounds, and the corgis. For safety, only our dogs can join us on this hike. Children under two years are FREE!

Join Captain Joe for a relaxing private boat cruise over to our oyster farm where you will shuck and slurp oysters straight out of the water, and learn about our Shellfish Reef Restoration project. Feel free to bring along snacks and your favorite drink. I’ll make sure we have plenty of oysters and all the fixings for our favorite rum cocktail! This trip lasts 1.5-2 hours and is available for up to 6 people . Kids of all ages are welcome to come but I find that children ages 9+ get the most enjoyment out of this type of trip. I have a similar aquaculture trip that is designed for kids aged 4-13 if you are looking for a more family-friendly activity. I only host private groups and the total price including all fees is: $255 for up to 3 people, plus $85 for each additional person up to 6 max.

Visit Portland’s vibrant working waterfront to view lobster boats often unloading their catch, learn about the historic wharves and our relationship to the sea . We’ll visit a mix of Old Port and waterfront district destinations, and sometimes a locale or two on the fringes, for a progressive lunch. Servings vary from dine-in and to go from restaurants, pubs, markets and artisanal shops. Learn about the life of lobsters dwelling on the ocean floor and hear about how hardy lobstermen and women haul in their catch year round, rain, snow and shine. We will start at the bottom of Munjoy Hill, along Washington Ave. tasting our way through the East Bayside. This adventure will last about 3 hours and a total walk of 1 mile. Your walk will include a tasty combination of foods and beverages such as; hot and flaky galettes, the “real” italian submarine, Maine frites cooked in duck fat, sausage or kale hand rolls, and more, each enjoyed with craft beer, craft mead and craft kombucha, topped off with cashew butter ice cream or freshly baked goodies. This walking tour will begin at the Dock Square and take you back in time, to the days when Kennebunkport was a thriving shipbuilding town. You will stroll along Maine Street and weave your way through the side streets, seeing the homes of the shipbuilders and merchants of the late 18th, and early 19th century, and sharing their stories. Ever wonder how Kennebunkport and Cape Porpoise got their names? How “Poor Arundel” as it was known in 1743, become one of the wealthiest towns in Maine by 1810? What happened at the Customs House during the ship building era to collect $119,850 in taxes in 1812 to over $1 Million in 1850? Join us to learn all this and more on a beautiful walk through time. We will end the tour at Dock/Union Square, bringing you full circle.

Celebrating 200+ years of history in Portland, Maine 2020 marks the bicentennial birthday of the Pine Tree State! Your tour begins inside 94 Commercial St. at Andy's Old Port Pub and continues for 2 hours through the historic Old Port, downtown and waterfront areas, sharing highlights of Portland’s history since 1820 and as far back as 1632. The narrative is shared by highly trained guides with a passion for local history, sights and landmarks. They’ll bring history alive on this leisurely, scenic stroll. Some of the locations we MAY feature on your tour include; the lobsterman’s statue featured at the World’s Fair, the home of Henry Wadsworth-Longfellow and his place of worship, the Eastern Cemetery, the 3rd oldest Abyssinian Church in the U.S, several underground railroad markers, and more!

I meet my guests at the trailhead of a beautiful location on Mount Desert Island, and start off with a brief introduction to Mindfulness Practice and it's benefits and then I will guide them through a variety of deeply relaxing mindfulness practices including Mindful Walking through the forest, Mindfulness of the Senses while sitting by the ocean and Mindful Eating by the sea. This experience allows guests to slow down, to connect with themselves, to their experience & with nature in a fully present, deeply relaxing, unique way.

Each experience includes 12 oysters & toppings including lemon, cocktail sauce, hot sauce and our chef's homemade mignonette! Shucking knives and gloves are provided for use during the class. You will be greeted by a knowledgeable member of our Boom Shuck-a-Lucka team, a group passionate individuals all oyster farmers themselves. We will provide detailed step by step instruction on how to shuck an oyster. Participants will then start shucking & we will continue to work 1 on 1 with you as needed. In addition to learning how to shuck we will educate & hopefully entertain on the history of Maine oysters & our growing aquaculture industry. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase as well.

I am excited to paint with you on beautiful Mt. Desert Island, Maine! It is a joy to paint here, and I welcome ‘Experiencers’ of any age (over 14), background, or level of experience! This half-day workshop will get you started on creating your own hand-painted greeting cards! Learn how to choose subjects, create interesting compositions, work with watercolor and drawing media, and sketch on location. We will create journal pages in coastal locations, harbors or boatyards. Your created projects are included in the cost of this course, and you will take them with you at the end of the workshop! No experience, or any art experience, it’s all good! If you haven’t painted before, or not in a while, I teach you tips and tricks to get you going. This class is **weather-dependent** — as we will be working entirely outdoors, in case of inclement weather I will cancel the workshop, and of course you will not be charged.

(Instructions for flying with oil paint included) Please bring hat, sunscreen, bug stuff, jacket, water bottle, wear comfortable shoes Helpful: A cell phone, snack, mask Skill Level: Any

ONLY BOOK ONE PERSON FOR GROUP (the cost will be 700$ total for up to 6 people) This is a private charter. It is a set cost no matter how many people in your group.Book the group price and you can take up to 5 more people with you. The tour can be adjusted and customized to whatever you desire for 3 hrs. If you just want a sightseeing cruise to sit back and relax I can accommodate that. If you want to rod and reel fish for 3 hrs we can do that also. However if you want to follow my usual tour I do It’s 3 hour boat tour on a real Maine lobster boat with a 3rd generation fisherman. We will be sight seeing, looking at seals, some rod and reel fishing for mackeral and Polluck, then Haul lobster traps with a full explanation.. You will be able to learn the trade, hands on measuring and banding lobsters. Licenses are covered under the boats operator permits and all equipment is provided Sightseeing with narration along the trip viewing a lighthouse and harbor seals! Possibly take some lobsters home with you at the end if we catch some! NOTE- if you select a tour for Sundays,Taking home lobster is not allowed. We can haul traps and look at lobsters but cannot take them. They have to be tossed back in the ocean.
